PHYSICAL EDUCATION (scroll down for Supervisory resources)
🔗P.E. Cover Sheet
Students will use this same Cover Sheet every month. It is the only physical piece of paper that you are required to submit to me.
Please print this Cover Sheet out each month, add your name and the current month to the top, and HAVE A PARENT SIGN IT to verify the physical activity that you entered on your Activity Log (see the topic "P.E. Assignments" for more info about the log). Without this parent signature, you will not receive any credit for your physical activity minutes.
🔗P.E. Assignments
Students will complete the following two (2) components for Physical Education each month:
PART 1: CONTENT ASSIGNMENT
Complete the P.E. Content Assignment that is posted in Google Classroom (join code 6hyysge).
The assignments for some months will take longer to complete than others. DON'T PUT IT OFF! You have a month to work on these assignments, so start early and you'll have no problem getting them done.
Quality work is expected in order to earn full points.
You will submit your work in Google Classroom to be graded. You will also print a copy of your content assignment to use as your P.E. work sample (the Activity Log will not be accepted as a work sample).
PART 2: ACTIVITY LOG
Perform at least 200 minutes per academic week of physical activity that meets the Physical Education standards.
Playing ball sports sports (such as soccer, softball, tennis), practicing body sports (such as gymnastics, yoga, martial arts, dance, running, swimming), or engaging in any sustained activity that increases physical endurance, coordination, mobilty or strength (such as biking, surfing, ice skating) are examples of physical activity that meet this requirement.
Record your physical activity in the Activity Log that is posted in Google Classroom (join code: 6hyysge). See the video below (or click here) to learn how to complete the log.
How to submit your completed Activity Log (two options):
You may complete the log digitally and upload it to Google Classroom.
If you'd prefer to fill the log out by hand, just print it out at the start of the month and feel free to do so. Scan your completed log and upload it to Google Classroom or attach it to the signed Cover Sheet and turn it in to the basket in Room B-16.
Because I will not be with you when you complete these activities, a parent is required to sign the Cover Sheet in order to verify them. Without a parent signature, Part 2 is a ZERO grade, regardless of the amount or type of physical activity shown on your Activity Log.
🔗Google Classroom
Students will access and submit their monthly P.E assignments via Google Classroom.

🔗Meeting With Your Supervisory Teacher (me!)
All 7th Grade students will meet with me at least once every month. You don’t have to sign up for this meeting. Just come by my room (B-16) sometime during “Turn-In Week.”
During this meeting, we'll talk about how things are going for you, and I will want to quickly look over any work you haven’t already turned in for your classes. I’m also going to collect from you and keep one work sample from the month for each of your courses (see the next section for more details about work samples).
Student attendance credit (ADA) is determined by the amount and quality of work you complete each month. These work samples are representative of a month’s worth of work for ADA, so make sure to select samples that show evidence of your BEST work. Without these work samples, you may be marked absent for all or part of the month.
In order to remain enrolled in our program, you are required to submit your work samples to me NO LATER than 3:00 p.m. on the last day of the academic month (a.k.a. "Turn-In Friday"). This is a FIRM deadline!!!
🔗Preparing Your Work Samples
Select one piece of work that you feel represents your best efforts from EACH of your courses. This should be a QUALITY piece, not some worksheet where you just added some commas or filled in a blank or two.
The Activity Log is NOT an acceptable work sample for P.E.. Always use the monthly content assignment as your P.E. work sample.
You may NOT use any form of assessment or formal evaluation. It cannot have the words "assessment, quiz, test, exam, evaluation, benchmark, etc" written on it anywhere. Even if it wasn't graded and was just used as practice, it cannot be used as your work sample.
You don’t have to wait until the last week to start preparing your work samples. If you produce a great piece of work during week 2, take it to the book room and make a copy of it for your audit file before you turn it in to your teacher to be graded.
If the class is held online only, such as a language class, then just take a screenshot of the interface when you’re working. Again, no assessments there, either.
Do NOT write the words "Work Sample" or "Audit" anywhere on your work samples.
Provide the following information at the top of each sample:
Your first and last name
The name of the course (ex: "P.E. 7" or "CC Math 7" or "Spanish 1-2")
The academic month and year the assignment was completed, formatted as follows: "Month _#_ , 2023-2024"
An assignment title (ex: "Reflection Essay" or "Lesson 1.4 " or "Chapter 4 Review")
Bring your work samples (audit pieces) to Ms. Rice in Room B-16 no later than 3:00 p.m. on "Turn-In Friday."
Use the checklist below when preparing your work samples. If your work samples do not have ANY errors, you will receive 5% extra credit on your P.E. grade for the month.
This is an "all or nothing" offer. If you have even one error on your work samples, you will not earn the extra credit, so use the checklist!
You must bring the signed cover sheet and the completed checklist with you in order to receive the extra credit. The checklist is on Page 2 of the Cover Sheet.
