Ways to Give Back

Mt. Everest Academy is renowned in the district for its excellence in academic achievement and the exceptional educational experience enjoyed by our students. This is made possibly largely in part by the high level of involvement from the community and the families of our students. We are grateful to everyone who takes the initiative to get involved and we welcome new volunteers!

VOLUNTEERING:

We have various opportunities to get involved on campus, to include assisting with clubs, workshops, community events, working in the gardens and much more. If you are interested in running a workshop, please email [email protected]

Many people think volunteering at their child's school takes a large time commitment, and isn't a viable option for working parents. This is not true! If you don't have a lot of time to spare, there are simple ways you can help. The MEA Foundation funds a wide array of programs, and is always in need of good volunteers to keep them up and running.

NOTE: All volunteers are required to complete a NEW Volunteer Application every year.

Return completed forms to the Holmes office.  Please contact [email protected]  if you have questions.

Volunteer Requirements:

All volunteers are required to have a TB Clearance Card on file to volunteer in a classroom.  This can be obtained by seeing your doctor/local clinic to have a TB test administered, or come in and see the school nurse on Tuesdays and she can administer the TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire.

NOTE: TB Clearance Cards are Good for Four Years from the Date of the Test or Questionnaire.

For more information about the new volunteer procedures, please visit the SDUSD website.

DONATING:

There are three ways to donate to our school. Donations can be made to ASB (this money can ONLY go to extracurriculars, enrichment, and student events), the MEA Foundation (supports academics, enrichment, teacher professional development, teacher mini grants for classroom projects), and MEA (can be used for anything school related). Donors can also include how they would like their money spent by using the following forms: Designated Donation Form for MEA and ASB/Club Designated Donation Form

The School and ASB accept checks only. The MEA Foundation accepts check and Paypal: https://meafoundation.org/donate/

In addition to direct donations, Mt. Everest Academy and the MEA Foundation run several fundraising events throughout the year. Including ACE Hardware round-up, Dining for Dollars, Charleston Wrap, See’s Candy, and the MEA Move-a-Thon. More information about these fundraisers may be found in the Monday Message as they become available.
